  • One of the pioneers of Minimally Invasive Surgery in Asia.
  • President of Singapore ELSA, Chapter of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia.
  • Founding Member of Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia.
  • Represents Singapore in the Board of Governors of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia.
  • Leader of the Singapore International Foundation Specialist Team on Laparoscopic Surgery from 1996 - 2002.
  • Member of the Medical Advisory Board of the Singapore International Foundation.
  • Conducted one of the first few randomised controlled trials on Laparoscopic Appendectomy in the world.
